“Stone me what a life” ( as per Tony Hancock)

When asked for feed back I had yet to use the product but did think that it promised a neater, cleaner and straightforward method of ballasting.
Having now used it , I believe I was right in this opinion though for purists the old diluted pva and loose ballast would still be first choice. Beginners and average modellers should, however, find it an acceptable option with less mess and danger of sticking up points.
The roll is 300mm ( 1ft) wide with a length of 1200mm(4ft) and to use it I cut it into 2ins strips using a craft knife. Scissors can be used but the material might not be blade friendly…..When unwrapping the roll put a plastic tub underneath to catch loose ballast which can then be used to finish off. To make the strips follow the track I cut small slits on the outer edge of the strips , some loose material filling in any gaps. The visual effect is good and it allows easier repairs/ changes to track layouts. Larger layouts would need more than 1 roll and I would still have a bag of loose material as a backup for small spots that might become dislodged on portable layouts.

Unable to give a review/.

I have not yet used this product so I am unable to give a review. The delay is due to me starting to build a new layout. The product appears to be of good quality.

Functional easy track ballasting.

Not seen or tried this before, but after initial scepticism found it adequate for my needs. Think of it more as a ballast rather than an underlay as the granule surface is bedded to only a thin paper based substrate, so for quieter smooth running it still needs a cork underlay. I do not like doing loose ballasting (especially to points) so this, whilst not as good, is quicker and easier and gives a reasonable result for the average hobby layout. Cutting it soon blunts the knife blades, though.Read full review...

Good quality underlay mat.

The underlay mat was perfect for my live steam loco display project. The length and width was more than adequate for the display board and the ballast size was just right. It was easy to cut accurately and attach to my display board. I have bought Javis products before and have always been happy with the quality. I would certainly recommend buying Javis products.Read full review...
