Must Have Item for BBQ

As a BBQ accessory I cannot do without I have used a Polder timer for many years. I have learned the amount of time and the temp at which beef, fish, chicken, veggies, etc. all cook the best and I just set the timer accordingly as a reminder of when to turn things over. It's especially helpful when others are around and talking or when I'm otherwise distracted. I wear the timer around my neck and know I won't forget about what's on the grill. I also use it when filling the pool or to time tasks that require me to not forget to do something. Even as a wakeup call from a nap when I don't want to set a clock etc. I've given 10 or 12 of these as gifts over the years and those who have gotten them have all been very appreciative and enthusiastically promote their use. Polder Timer on a pendant

This product works as advertised, but what isn't divulged in the literature is the sound of the alarm is extremely low in volume. One has to have the device on his body to hear it and then it isn't that loud. For a senior citizen whose hearing has diminished over time it is even more of a struggle to hear the alarm, not to mention operate the tiny buttons. I can still use it, but is someone's hearing was more impaired it would be a lost cause. This device was a "must have" recommendation of America's Test Kitchens, so I have a bone to pick with them. My Favorite Timer

I bought this as an additional timer. The appearance has been slightly updated from an earlier same model as it has slightly smaller display and a more squared appearance. Also, the beeping isn't nearly as loud but usable. Still it's a favorite for mine.Read full review
